Customer Reviews

"Hidden gem in Rapid City. Best Jamaican food outside of Jamaica, says my friend who has been to Jamaica, all I know is that the flavors amazing, and Gramma Pauline who cooks everything is the best! I know this because my oldest always orders two brown stew chickens so she can eat it the next day, and my youngest wants to eat here for her birthday, every single year. For low spice people, the brown stew chicken or shrimp curry are great options. The homemade hot sauce though...omg flavor off the chart!!"

"This unassuming restaurant has wonderful food and a very friendly staff. We tried the jerk chicken and brown pork stew - both were exceptionally flavorful and delicious. We look forward to trying the curry and oxtail dishes next time. Make sure you try their hot sauce! It is a wonderful addition to the already great flavors."

- Alex W.

"This place was really great. I tried the oxtail, spinners, rice and peas, yellow rice, curry goat, fried chicken, and jerk chicken. It was all excellent. I ate all of my food, then ate some of my family members' food, and then ordered another plate to go. Nice selection of imported Jamaican beverages too. Priced very reasonably with very pleasant service. Will have to visit here again next time I am in town."

"Truly, one of those gem "hole in the wall" restaurants. I stopped by just before she closed and all she had was the bottom of the curry goat pan. It was amazing! If the last bit of food of the day taste that good, then that's all I need to know! I may stop again before I leave town."

"This is an absolute great find!! You will not see the sign outside the door I added the exterior pictures. I will tell you that if it is your first time trying Jamaican food it is going to set the bar really high. I am in town for a day, had dinner here and plan on coming back for lunch before I catch my flight out tomorrow. Since I breathed the food down, didn't get a chance to take a picture. I will add pictures from my lunch tomorrow. Added pics and the food doesn't disappoint!!"

" The food here is delicious. It's the best Indian-tasting food I've had in the USA even though it isn't Indian restaurant and it reminds me of my mom's home cooking. I highly recommend trying it at least once. Go before evening 6. Food is not available after that. I tried: Goat curry with white rice and side of cabbage."

- Benny K.

"We went there for dinner one day prior to going to Mount Rushmore and let me tell you one thing- if you want to feel the taste of home cooked food as well as want to try out Jamaican cuisine for the first time I'd definitely highly recommend this place. Hands down the best home cooked Jamaican food I've ever had. I wish I could go there frequently. The lady that was serving there was such an amazingly wonderful person, all my friends including me felt motherly affection from her. She's an extremely caring and nice lady. We love how kind and generous you are ma'am. And best oxtail I've ever tasted FYI- I'm reviewing this place after 1.5 years of my trip so this should tell you 'how lazy I'm' and how amazing this place is that I still remembered them and wanted to review."
